Are You Sure?
Life is fragile.
We often times will get caught up in preparing a comfortable life for ourselves here and now and forget entirely about the afterlife. What happens if one day we find that all we have chased after here on earth will not save us when it comes to eternity?
Are you SURE you are chasing the right things? Are you SURE of your salvation? Many may THINK they are heaven-bound, but yet are not truly saved. Do you worry about that?
Matthew 7:21 says, “Not everyone who says to me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven,”
You can believe, have a catalog of good works, attend church regularly. . . but you may not yet be saved.
Jesus tells us the way in John 14:6, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.’”
Remember, it is not OUR works, but HIS (Jesus on the cross paying the debt we owe for our sins). Not OUR goodness, but HIS (no amount of good works can equal His righteousness). Not OUR life, but HIS (only His sinless life can bring us into right relationship with God).
“For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God—not by works, so that no one can boast.” Ephesians 2:8-9
GRACE, not works. JESUS, and only JESUS, not us.
Will you confess Him with your mouth? Will you invite Him into your life today? (Romans 10:9-10)
So, are you SURE of your future?
. . .Given how fragile life is, wouldn’t you like to be today?
