The Population in My World

Our mission here at Urban Bible Outreach is to supply local organizations with the life-changing Word of God, so that as they seek to meet the community’s physical needs, we can partner with them to meet the spiritual needs as well. The need is profound. There are physically and spiritually hungry people all around us, pressing in on every side, but life, all too often, keeps us so busy that our world narrows and the lens through which we view anyone other than ourselves gets so cloudy, we often don’t see the need. My prayer is the same as that of Christian music artist Matthew West, whose song “My Own Little World” is an excellent “theme song” for Urban Bible Outreach.

“Father, break my heart for what breaks Yours.
Give me open hands and open doors.
Put Your light in my eyes and let me see,
That my own little world is not about me.”

Our heart’s desire is to reach a hurting world for Christ. It’s a win-win commitment, and it opens our world to include more than just us.
